Referees and Timekeepers

To get started as a referee there are a few steps to follow:

Register for the appropriate level as an official with USA hockey here. (If you have never reffed before, register as a level 1)

Sign up for a full day seminar.  This is IN PERSON.  Check the website for location and dates.

Create an officials login, where you will be able to access your online test and modules, and view your progress.

Once you have attended a seminar, you will need to log into your officials account, complete an open book test and a set of modules.  After you have completed all requirements, your crest, reffing card will be mailed to you.

 REFEREES 

All Referees must attend a clinic each year.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DROP OFF A COPY OF YOUR NEW REF CARD. PUT IT IN THE REF MAIL BOX AT THE RINK.

Welcome back! Here are a few updates,

  1.  Referee scheduling will be through the IRHA Arbiter Scheduling System.  The head ref will  schedule for IRHA Games at the Negaunee Ice Arena.
  2. All Referees, new and returning, need to supply the head ref with a copy of their 2022-2023 referee card.
  3. The Arbiter scheduling system will be used and referees will input their contact information and availability.
  4. Contact the head ref for scheduling, paper work, and payroll concerns.
  5. All Payroll will be completed monthly by IRHA.  A W-9 form needs to be filled out prior to being assigned games and submitted to IRHA Treasurer.

Timekeepers

Welcome Back! Here are a few updates,

  1. All Timekeepers must be second year Pee Wee age and above.
  2. All Timekeepers, new and returning, need to fill out a Timekeeper Information Form (may download from the Forms/Documents page).
  3. Timekeeper schedules will be assigned on the Arbiter system.
  4. Contact the head ref for all scheduling and paperwork concerns.
  5. A W-9 form must be filled out before being assigned games.
