2025-2026 Learn to Skate (LTS)
The focus and goal of the Learn to Skate (LTS) curriculums are designed to teach beginner hockey players the fundamentals of skating. It’s important for these players to become comfortable on the ice, learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and how to hold a stick before moving into a learn to play, 6U or 8U full hockey curriculum.
Ages
4-8 Year old.
3 years with a parent on ice with them. (Ask how to help on the ice)
When
November to March
Where
All Skates will be at the Negaunee Ice Arena
Practices
Mondays and Fridays around 6pm
Games
LTS will play in an end of the year Jamboree against other UP organizations. Actual games are in our Mite program.
Jerseys
Jerseys are provided along with all the equipment you need. Everything except Skates and Neck Guards. Neck guards are mandatory for all skaters.
Costs
You will need skates, hockey socks and a neck guard. We will provide everything else! (including a stick they get to keep)
We also have $200 in cash raffle tickets and $25 in gun raffle tickets.
(You keep the money when you sell)
Registration is $75 for the whole season.
2025-2026 Learn to Skate (LTS)
Learn to Skate runs from November through February.
Practices are typically Mondays and Fridays at 6:00pm
This program is for new skaters. As they advance through the season, they may start hockey basics.
Cost is $75 plus Raffle tickets ($225)
When you sell the raffle tickets you keep the money. The season is only $75
Each player will get a free hockey stick. We loan all the gear needed except skates and neck guards.
